Pete,
Thanks for the birthday wishes. I was happy with my exam results, and really enjoyed my birthday. I am also looking forward to getting back to work.
I was in the city on New Years Eve, but I do not think that it was me that you saw on the train.

Hello Claudia,
I am pleased that you like Ocean Girl and how I play my character "Mera". I enjoyed filming Ocean Girl.

Xanatic,
Answers for your questions.
1. My hair was curled for Ocean Girl. I didn't keep the dress. The material was almost falling to pieces in the end, from the salt water. I did keep the necklace I wore though.
2. Kideo was good to work on. It is always good to play different characters. You don't get bored that way. One scene was me playing a headmitress, and all adult men playing school kids, with me threatening them with a cane. Some of the scenes were really funny.
Rob,
Thank you for the compliment, I am pleased that you liked it. It is best to write to Marzena c/o the production office, as they pass on the letters.
Denise,
I am pleased that you enjoyed the show. I would be happy to answer questions for your home page. Please post to my address. I will reply as soon as possible. I am currently filming so it may take me a little while before I can reply.
Mario,
I have not been advised of an Ocean Girl movie, only heard the rumours. I am currently filming a guest role for Home and Away.

Hi Xanatix,
Yes, I'm meant to be 16 or 17 in Home and Away this time.
My height will probably be an advantage. There are a lot of small actors around. They can cheat shoot a lot of the time. I have stood on many boxes and steps where close up scenes needed this to fit the actors in the frame.
I do not really have any favourite bands. I like a lot of popular music, I am not really into classical, jazz, or country music.

Nebo,
I am pleased that you like my characters in Spellbinder 2 and Ocean Girl. Good luck with your studies. I hope you get to be an actor.
I do not have email at home. My homepage has more information about shows I have filmed etc. I try to keep Merijn, who owns the page, updated with what is happening. The link is below.
I am currently filming a new telemovie called 'Error 2000'. It is a German and Australian co production. I hope that you get to see it and like it when it goes to air.

Emilie,
I have not seen David since filming Ocean Girl, as we live in different states in Australia. I believe he is continuing with his studies.
David is a a really nice person. He is very considerate of other people, and has a good sense of humour. I enjoyed working with David very much.

Hello Emilie,
I do not always have a lot of time to answer my mail, or the internet mail here, but I have just finished filming, and am home with a bad cold, so am trying to catch up.
I also thought that Ocean Girl was a good series, because it was very dirrerent to most shows filmed. It was wonderful to film it, perhaps more so as I look back. When you film a series, you do not see the entire show. You film a bit here, and a bit there, and the director, and editor pull it all together. You just go by the script, and hope that it is going as you see it. I believe that Ocean Girl has been very popular because of this, and also the area it was filmed in. There are a lot of Australian series filmed that are very good, this one just happened to be concerning the sea, which is very appealing.
I do know where David lives, but am an unable to give out this information. However, I believe that any mail sent to the production company will be forwarded to him.
Best wishes

Hi Jenny,
Filming 'Strictly Ballroom', was like playing dress up every day. It was a lot of fun. Most of the main cast had never trained in ballroom dancing before, so there were lots of lessons. My grandfather, was a ballroom dancing teacher, and had died long before I was born. I had trained in ballet, jazz, and tap, for 4 years before Strictly, but had never before attempted ballroom dancing.
Paul was wonderful. He had to work very hard. He injured his ankle very badly before the final scene was shot. He danced that scene over and over, in a lot of pain, and no one would ever know. Paul's father is a very well known Australian actor, Gus, he played one of the judges on the dance floor in the final scene of Strictly, so as father and son appeared together. A bit of Aus movie trivia.

Cassiel,
Thank you for you well wishes. I am almost better. My voice is nearly back to normal. I was filming 'Error 2000', and in the water a bit, this is probably why I ended up with a cold.
I finished filming this only a couple of weeks ago, and am not filming anything else yet. I have to sing on Friday, so am hoping that my voice is back to normal.
What did I like working on best, and was the hardest to work on? Very hard to answer. Different shows had different special meanings for me. 'The Seven Little Australians, was a stage show, and we performed at night, then I went to school in the day, hard to get home at midnight, and then be at school at 9.00 in the morning, at eight years of age. Act of Neccessity', was very hard to film, as it was about children dying of cancer. This was also done without any script. We talked about how we would feel about the scene, and shot it. I learnt a lot from this show. 'Galaxy' – was wonderful to film, but I had to move interstate from my school, family, dance school, and friends for seven months. I did meet one of my best friends, Jeffery Walker, while filming this. Then there is the scenery, and filming in special places. 'Ocean Girl', Spellbinder – The Land of The Dragon Lord', and 'Mission Top Secret' probably come to mind here. Pure fun, probably 'Strictly Balllroom', it was like dress up every day. I hope that this give you some idea.
I have a homepage which Merijn keeps for me. He sometimes posts here. The address is -
http://huizen.dds.nl/~evdmeer/laurenp.html
I try to keep Merijn updated with what I am working on, and my post address is listed here.

> I'd want to know if there are on sale any tapes of your works (like Strictly Ballroom, Halfway across the galaxy and turn left, etc.), and where I could buy it.
Nebo,
I believe that some are on sale from different production companies. Merijn is probably the best person to contact for this information. You can mail him at the Webpage:

And thank you, I am almost better.

Rob,
At this stage I am unsure. I have been working since I was six years old. Trying to mix studying and working for all of those years is very hard. This year, I just wanted to catch up with friends, and do some acting. Which, I am doing. I am starting to look at courses to study, but am still unsure what I want to take. Everyone expects I will study some sorts of Arts course. I don't know, maybe I will study something completely different.

I have answered your mails here, as it was a bit nearer the top.
Emilie,
David does study in Melbourne. I cannot remember his family details, I think that he has a sister.
Is David down to earth? He was last I saw him, hopefully that hasn't changed.
'Error 2000'. Unfortunately, I will not get to visit Germany. I have finished filming now, and the Australian cast were only required to film here. Perhaps you could write a lot of letters to SAT1, and they might bring me over. That would be nice. The only thing I have seen of Germany, is the inside of Frankfurt Airport.
I have just heard that 'Spellbinder 2' has sold to German TV, which I was very pleased with, as I have always received a lot of mail from Germany.
I have no new plans of any filming. I will let Merijn know when I do, so that he can update the webpage.
Best wishes
Lauren
Jenny,
Thanks for the good wishes. I am almost well again. I was happy to answer your questions on 'Strictly Ballroom'.

I thought that the slide show was very good, it took us a while to download though. You must have spent a lot of time on it. Thank you.

Pete,
I am unsure if, or when 'Error 2000' will go to air in Australia. I assume it will, as it was a German/Australian Co-production. When it is finished editing, I will go to the screening. I will find out any information I can then.
And yes thank you, my cold is better..
Viggen,
I have no further information on Marzena, other than she is studying at University. We live in different states in Australia, and I only saw Marzena when filming.
Kelly,
I hope that you succeed with your dream to become an actor. To perform in local drama, and musical society productions, is always good experience. There are probably courses at your school or locally also. Then you need to get an agent. I really got into the industry by accident. There is no sure way to approach a career in this field. Just keep learning and performing whenever you get an opprotunity, you never know who is watching.

I haven't been on here for a while, so there are a few messages to answer.
Little Angel,
I signed you guest book today (note: this message can be read here).
DeC,
Yes, I have been to see Star Wars, and really enjoyed it.
Xanatic,
It is sometimes difficult to forget the actor side when I watch shows and film. I usually do not watch all of what I film myself. If it is a series I often only watch a couple of episodes. I also prefer to watch what I have filmed by myself. When I see other shows I often look at how something was done, rather than what is shown, and I often see mistakes. But, if the film or show is good, then it doesn't stop me from enjoying it.
Saskia,
Hello. I think others have answered your question. I know that Jeffery has looked at this site.
Jenny,
Spellbinder locations were around Shanghai, or countryside that we travelled to from Shanghai. I did go to Beijing for a week, but only to go site seeing. We walked the Great Wall etc. It was amazing.
Squant, Andi, Todesengel..
You are all correct. I do not answer questions about boyfriends etc as this is my private life, and also situations can alter. I think that you see a little of me in every character that I play. I do try to respond to all mail, even if it takes me a while, as I like to know what people think of the shows I am in, and of how I play different characters, and appreciate the time that people take to write to me. I have people mail from all over the world, and often have to have letters translated. I think that it is great, that in this way, the world is really such a small place.
Best wishes to all,
Lauren

I am still quite small. I am almost 5 feet tall, and I think that I have stopped growing.

Dear Guido,
Thank you for your kind words. I am pleased that you liked Ocean Girl, and I hope that you get to see some of the other shows that I have filmed.
Unfortunately those who replied here were correct. I do not speak any other languages. I know a few words in other languages due to my travels, but only words like hello, good bye, and thank you etc.

Dear Liam,
Thank you. It is always nice to know that people out there like what you do. I did like working on Ocean Girl, and I have enjoyed many of the shows I have worked on. Spellbinder was great because I got to travel and meet new people, and sometimes shows are good just because you get to work with people that you have previously worked with, and you can catch up with them. The movie was 'Error 2000', and I have not yet seen it. It was made for television and is a coproduction with Germany. I have not seen it yet. I am currently studying and have no further plans of filming at this stage.
Best wishes
